Yoga

The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root "yug" meaning to bind, join, attach and yoke, to direct and concentrate one’s attention on, to use, to apply. It also means union or communion. Yoga is one of the six orthodox systems of Indian Philosophy. In Indian thought, everything is permeated by the supreme Universal Spirit of which the individual human spirit is a part. Patanjali enumerates eight limbs of Yoga for the quest of the soul.

There are many different Yoga traditions. To stay grounded and relaxed in these times, it is important to have a regular practice every day. This is called a sadhana, or daily practice.

I personally teach Yoga in the Sivananda and Iyengar Traditions and Kundalini Yoga. A daily Yoga practice opens your heart, keeps you flexible, pain free and happy, optimizes your health, makes you breathe deeper, builds your bodily confidence, strength and endurance, helps in stress reduction, frees your mind and connects you to your Higher Self. Om and Sat Nam.
